Amaravati, Andhra Pradesh – Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, during a discussion in the Andhra Pradesh Assembly on the Swarna Andhra Vision-2047 document, expressed his pride in playing a role in the economic reforms introduced by former Prime Minister P.V. Narasimha Rao, which helped India chart its course toward economic development. Naidu’s remarks came as part of a larger presentation outlining ten guiding principles to achieve the state’s long-term development goals.
Emphasizing his confidence in India’s future, Naidu noted that by 2047, which will mark 100 years of India’s independence, the country will emerge as a global leader. He highlighted that the Swarna Andhra Vision-2047 document is centered on key aspects like poverty eradication, technological advancement, and the People-Public-Private Partnership (P4) model, aimed at creating a balanced and robust economic ecosystem.
“The comprehensive planning of this vision includes detailed frameworks at the state, district, constituency, municipality, and mandal levels. We are focusing on grassroots-level implementation to ensure tangible outcomes,” Naidu stated.
A crucial component of the Swarna Andhra Vision-2047, according to Naidu, is the assessment of the socio-economic conditions of the people, which will guide the creation of progressive vision documents for each constituency. “Our goal is not just to provide aid, but to empower people,” the CM said, emphasizing the government’s commitment to social security and economic self-reliance for families across the state. “We are teaching people how to fish, not just giving them fish,” Naidu explained.
Naidu reiterated that ensuring housing, residential land, and basic infrastructure like safe drinking water and gas connections for every household is a priority for the state government. These efforts are designed to improve living standards and foster a sense of security and stability for every citizen.
On the subject of energy reforms, Naidu highlighted the state’s future focus on solar, wind, and pumped storage power generation. He predicted that these renewable energy sectors would play a pivotal role in Andhra Pradesh’s energy landscape in the coming years. “Our government is actively working on wealth creation through sustainable energy sources,” he said, calling on legislators to encourage investments in their constituencies. Naidu took an indirect swipe at the previous government, urging MLAs to actively attract industries rather than discourage them.
Reflecting on the recent setbacks faced by the state, Naidu expressed optimism about Andhra Pradesh’s recovery. “Though we faced challenges in the last five years, the state is now back on track,” he said, emphasizing the importance of long-term strategic planning for sustainable growth. Drawing from historical examples, he recalled introducing the Vision 2020 plan in the early 1990s for the undivided Andhra Pradesh, which had ultimately exceeded expectations and benefitted the state.
Naidu further drew comparisons between Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s “Viksit Bharat-2047” and the Swarna Andhra Vision-2047. He disclosed that the government is actively involving MLAs in the development of vision documents for their respective constituencies to ensure holistic and inclusive planning. “Our ultimate goal is to make Andhra Pradesh a $2.4 trillion economy by 2047, with a per capita income of ₹55 lakh,” Naidu declared, setting an ambitious growth target of 17.11% for the current financial year.
Addressing concerns about the economic future of the Rayalaseema region, Naidu rejected the perception of the area as barren land. “Rayalaseema will transform into a land of prosperity, not just rocky terrain,” he asserted. He pointed to Anantapur district’s recent rise to the fifth position in economic performance as evidence of the region’s potential for growth.
With the Swarna Andhra Vision-2047, Chandrababu Naidu outlined an ambitious and comprehensive roadmap for the state’s future, emphasizing empowerment, infrastructure, and strategic reforms aimed at positioning Andhra Pradesh as a leading economic force in India and the world by 2047.
