Jammu: The Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) for Jammu Zone, Anand Jain, conducted a comprehensive review of the operational readiness of the Kathua Police on Friday during his visit to the Special Operations Group (SOG) camps in the district. He was accompanied by Inspector General (IG) CRPF Jammu Sector, R. Gopala Krishna Rao, and Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Kathua, Shobhit Saxena.
The senior officers visited several key SOG camps located in the Bani-Machedi axis, including those at Lowang and Duggaini, where they closely assessed the infrastructure, equipment, and training facilities available to the police forces. They also evaluated the security arrangements, counterinsurgency strategies, and the overall preparedness of the forces to meet emerging challenges in the strategically important border district.
During the visit, ADGP Anand Jain engaged with the SOG personnel and underscored the significance of continuous skill enhancement to adapt to the evolving security landscape in the region. “It is essential that the teams stay vigilant and adopt proactive measures to effectively counter crime and terrorism,” Jain stated.
He also emphasized that inter-agency collaboration is crucial for addressing emerging threats effectively. “Continuous training and collaboration with other security agencies are vital to ensure the safety and security of the region,” the ADGP added.
The visit also focused on boosting morale and professionalism within the police ranks, with ADGP Jain reiterating the need for a high level of alertness among all personnel. He commended the efforts of the SOG teams and encouraged them to maintain their dedication to safeguarding the region.
A police spokesperson mentioned that the visit reinforced the commitment of law enforcement agencies to ensure peace and safety in Kathua and the surrounding areas. “The review highlighted the determination of the police to remain prepared for any potential threats and to ensure the security of the region,” the spokesperson said.
