Sachin Pilot Claims : Congress Will Form Government in Haryana and J&K

Jaipur : Former Rajasthan Deputy Chief Minister Sachin Pilot expressed confidence on Monday that the Congress party will form the next government in both Haryana and Jammu & Kashmir (J&K) with a significant majority.

Speaking to the media in Tonk, Pilot stated, “On Tuesday, the counting of votes in the two states will take place, and we are going to form the next government in Haryana with a good majority.”

He criticized the BJP’s attempts to manipulate political dynamics in J&K, asserting that the INDIA bloc is poised to secure a clear majority in the region as well. “Many political games were played in J&K, some behind the scenes. However, the people there will give a clear majority to the INDIA bloc after 10 years,” he added.

Pilot emphasized that the upcoming elections represent a call for change in both states. “We will form our government in both Haryana and J&K. The BJP had their government in J&K with the assistance of the Governor. People voted for change, and 80 percent voter turnout has been recorded,” he noted.

Regarding leadership selection in Haryana and J&K, Pilot explained that Congress follows a structured process. “There is a meeting of the legislative party, observers are sent from Delhi to submit their reports to the party president, and then the central leadership makes a decision after consulting the MLAs. Once this procedure is followed, the leader of the legislative party is decided,” he said.

On the topic of ‘One Nation, One Election,’ Pilot criticized the BJP’s claims, pointing out that elections in Jharkhand and Maharashtra are still pending. He also expressed hope that the dates for elections in Rajasthan’s seven Assembly seats would be announced soon. “There are 10 vacant seats in Uttar Pradesh and many Lok Sabha seats also remain unfilled. We anticipate that election dates will be finalized shortly,” he said.
