The police Constable hit by a car, dragged, trampled and killed!

Delhi, India – In a heart-wrenching incident early Sunday morning, a Delhi Police constable, identified as 30-year-old Sandeep, was tragically killed after being struck by a speeding car that dragged him for about 10 meters before another vehicle collided with him. The constable, who suffered severe head injuries, was on duty when the fatal accident occurred.

Sandeep was in civilian clothes and en route to the railway station to investigate local burglary incidents at around 2:15 AM when he noticed a Wagon R being driven recklessly. After advising the driver to slow down, a confrontation ensued. According to police reports, Sandeep attempted to take a left turn when the driver struck his bike from behind, resulting in the devastating collision.

One of the occupants of the car, identified as Rajneesh alias Sittu, was arrested in Noida shortly after the incident. However, the driver responsible for the crash remains at large. Initial investigations suggest that one of the individuals in the vehicle may be linked to liquor smuggling.

Police have seized the abandoned vehicle and are actively pursuing leads to locate the driver. “There was probably a verbal exchange between him and the driver,” said Jimmy Chiram, DCP of Outer Delhi Police. “Prima facie, it looks like road rage, but we will know more once the accused is apprehended.”

In a solemn tribute to Constable Sandeep, the Delhi Police conducted a Guard of Honour ceremony in his village of Madina in Sonipat district, Haryana. “His unparalleled service and unwavering devotion to duty will never be forgotten,” a police spokesperson stated. Sandeep leaves behind his mother, wife, and a five-year-old son, prompting an outpouring of grief from the community and his colleagues.
