Beirut : A devastating Israeli airstrike on a residential building in Jiyeh, a coastal town 30 kilometers south of Beirut, has resulted in the deaths of two individuals and left several others injured. The attack occurred on Saturday evening, targeting a three-story structure in the Nabi Younes neighborhood, with the explosion felt across a wide area, including Beirut and Sidon.
Local reports indicate that civil defense teams rushed to the scene to clear debris and assist the injured, who were promptly transported to nearby hospitals, as reported by Xinhua via local TV channel MTV.
The airstrike is part of a recent escalation in hostilities, with the Israeli army significantly increasing its air operations against Hezbollah since September 23. This uptick in strikes has led to numerous civilian casualties and has compelled many residents to evacuate their homes. In addition to aerial assaults, Israel has initiated what it describes as a “limited” ground operation within Lebanon.
